Dean T-K I love this album, it's in the cars player on a regular basis.

jehkoba Juliana's harmonies caught my attention immediately, starting with her covers of some of my favourite songs by other artists. Delving into her original work, I found her to be an incredibly talented wordsmith with a keen ear for heartbreakingly simple melodies, and lyrics that follow through. ♥ Favorite track: Alone Tonight.
Heidi Hartman

Heidi Hartman Juliana is the best musician out there! I originally found her amazing covers on YoutTube then found her originals. I absolutely love her music. It's perfect. Hope she tours in Colorado sometime. I'll be there! Favorite track: If I Had A Boat.

the lights look bluer when you’re way up high I wrote you a song and I I threw it, I threw it in the fire and if I could lay me down for a while oh I would lay me down, down but if I had a boat I’d sail to you drag it through the mud if there weren’t no water I would steal a night of sin or two damn ‘em all, I ain’t no preacher’s daughter I’d walk my feet raw in the desert sand cry out to the moon like it understands oh, if I had a boat I think in numbers I’m pretty sure that you think in rhyme the sum keeps changing I’ve worked the math out far too many times and we drag our truths around like a lie yeah we drag them all around but if I had the words I’d send for you a perfectly constructed typewriter cannon I’d shoot it straight up out into the blue to where you are, lord knows that I’d be firing at random and I just wanna know, where do you keep your kings? and if they ever fall, then will you think of me? oh, if I had the words if I had a boat I’d sail to you oh, if I had a boat I’d sail to you but I ain’t got no vessel I ain’t got no sea I find myself as landlocked as can be but if I had a boat

Stones 03:03
fly south for the winter looking for warmer weather and a sun to warm the parts that have been left out in the cold I heard about the dancing and I heard about their songs and I thought if I listened close I would learn to sing along they say no man’s an island but damned if I ain’t been floating face down staring at the bottom of the sea and all I wanted was to try it to push and to pry it from the hands of someone probably more deserving than me and I don’t want to be another sinking stone but if I hold my breath for long enough I’ll find out where this current goes and who’s to say if up above or down below they can see the answers better, I don’t know profits prophesizing, politicians profiteering and the big machine that runs this place is running out of steam but I thought if I could see it oh if I could only hold it I could carve out a little bit, a little bit for me and I don’t want to be another sinking stone but from what I’ve heard ‘bout gravity well, sometimes even stones will roll and who’s to say if up above or down below they can see the answers better, I don’t know I wrote this for my mother I wrote this for my father and I’m singing it for everyone who still has yet to hear there are islands, there are oceans rocks and those who throw ‘em they’ll say what they want to say and you’ll see what you want to see and I don’t want to be another sinking stone and just because I’m by myself don’t mean I’m in this thing alone and who’s to say if up above or down below they can see the answers better, I don’t know

Slow Love 03:56
we grow cold at the thought of a beginning’s end we know that the best will soon be good at best, and if it were me, if it were you how would this go? what would we do? and my fear is that someone will cast a draft of me in stone and when I find myself, I’ll find myself alone—can I burn these mountains I know? I’m selfishly holding on fast to my ghosts so if you’re gonna love me won’t you love me slow? we ran just like horses in a war count back from ten plumb the darkness, wondering what for the walls say we do, the shadows we don’t I’d fall if I’d let me, I’m betting I won’t so if you’re gonna love me won’t you love me slow? and I’m just looking for some proof that something’s real and something’s true I swore that I’d feel nothing till I could feel it all oh, I’m sure that I’ve been good but good for what, and good for whom? I know you’d break it but I’d rather run than fall and so I wrestle my grey my nothing, my void get lost in my lonely make love in the noise

I’m sitting in the parking lot killing my insides we ain’t got a lot to talk about but you’ve got a lot on your mind and it’s colder than I thought it’d be for this part of the world at this time of the year but I’ll never let you know it, no oh, I’ll quake in my boots and I’ll grit my teeth we’ll both go home alone tonight you don’t write any songs when you’re happy I become someone else when you’re blue and I thought this was supposed to be easy and I think that you probably did too and I don’t know what you take me for a muse, a musician, some kind of magician but I’m just using all the same words that I stole from some overheard conversations we’ll both go home alone tonight I was terrible and then I was worse and now you’re nothing, cuz I took it all but this ain’t about who shot who first it’s shaking your dust off, it’s learning to fall and I guess that’s just the way these things go at least that’s what I keep being told blue’s a beautiful color, I know it matches my eyes and it matches your soul we’ll both go home alone tonight

Green 03:58
wait till there’s a sign of something better coming hold out, hold out baby what’s the use in running? write it all out in the morning and then try to make sense of it once it’s down I only drink cuz I’m thirsty I know that the water’s bad this side of town and I had it all, and I still do it’s just a different kind of everything we watched real close to see it fade when all the colors they were turning green oh, in the right light everything still looks green this black it ain’t my fault this purple I don’t even know this blue, well I’m thinking it might be from you oh, but I didn’t think that it would show I’ve got some bad habits in my shadows they keep following me around I try to kill ‘em with sunlight I swim real deep but they won’t drown and I had it all, and I still do it’s just a different kind of everything we watched real close to see it fade when all the colors they were turning green oh, in the right light everything still looks green I draw with my eyes closed forget everything I used to know I draw with my eyes closed draw with my eyes closed oh I had it all and I still do it’s just a different kind of everything we watched real close to see it fade when all the colors they were turning green oh, in the right light everything still looks green

I don’t need you I can sing myself to sleep I don’t want you but sometimes you still are the trouble I seek yeah, you’re the poison in my silver cup you light me up, you leave me love yeah you give me those— I got my reasons, and baby so do you I try to tell myself I’m chasing my dreams but sometimes I really think that I’m just chasing you in the sunlight, in the moonlight I am fine but every time I close my eyes it’s those red hot blues you give me those red hot blues I thought for certain I’d be able to make some sense of this one soon I thought I understood, I thought I’d figured out but you’ve got more phases than the goddamn moon morning coffee, midnight whiskey I am fine but every time I close my eyes it’s those red hot blues you give me those red hot blues I wanna wrap you up tight in my misery and make you feel all of those things that you done to me But every time I, every time I , every time I close my eyes! it’s those red hot blues

Way To Go 03:43
we plant our seeds we plant our seeds to grow ‘em tall, but cut our trees we cut our trees to make room for some palaces some palaces to hide us all from what we do not know I walk a line I walk a line somewhere between a path that’s mine and something I was taught was right but if I stay and if I wait and never try well then I will not know! and what a way to go a trial run of something that you heard would probably be fun but turns out like they said it’s already been done you fall in line and raise a flag that’s big enough to hide behind your soothsayer, fortuneteller, concubine and what a way to go when all your castles fall, all your castles fall and what a way to go

monkey in the corner, staring at me so, look, I just love you far too much, too much to ever let you go. I’ve wrestled larger things than these, I’m fixated on winning— yours, mine, and otherwise, it’ll all be a wash in the morning love, the morning love it’s all a wash, wring it out. in the morning love, the morning it’s a wash, start again in the morning I’ll be waiting and you’ll probably be gone, still I’ll make banana pancakes and I’ll hum what I thought was our song, and do you even like those things? I guess I never asked you, I just assumed like all the rest they’d be your favorite fruit.

In Your Arms 02:58
october 2nd, 1954 silver wheels rolled her right out of the door and they all tip their hats, nod their goodbyes a straight-armed salute as she goes we’ll skip in her wake and dance on the heels of things we’re not yet meant to know or to feel and we’ll ring ‘round the marigolds trample the earthen soil waiting to hear some word from somebody who knows she said I’ll write you a letter, I’ll fold it just so send it down from the heavens to where you are standing below with the others all circled around 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 little pieces I hope to be found and they’ll whisper behind the curtains things surely I’m not meant to hear but walls they will talk as I lie up in bed with my eyes shooting question marks up at the ceiling but she said, “Darlin’ I’m fine, I’m just floating up high o’er the fangs of the earth, a balloon in the sky and oh, it’s so magical, marvelous, fantastical lightning may strike me— I’ll fall back down into your arms” now we’ll wait in the dark, watch the moon fall straining ten eyes to catch a glimpse of her in that yellow ball dancing silently among the stars but we can’t see, we can’t see, we can’t see— she’s gotten too far

Walkin' 04:32
I walked down this road twice today once to get somewhere, once to get away back turned towards some words I hadn’t heard what you were trying to say, I can’t be sure I walked ‘til the hurt settled down in my shoes put a few miles between me and my blues I had a conversation with the moon said I was mad at me and mad at you now I don’t know nothin’ bout nothin’ but I know that there’s a feeling that I’ll follow till I drive it to the ground and if I leave here I can get there, if I get there I can do it and I’ll do it even if there’s no one else around I walked around all of the patches of light thought you might miss it if I were to disappear in the night I wondered to myself where would I go? I wondered if you’d care or if you’d know? I scribbled all these questions on the back of my hand thought if I thought about it long enough I might understand but thinkin’ thoughts ain’t bringing any answers to light and walkin’ feet keep walking me off into the night and I don’t know what it is that I am looking for but maybe I have gotta go and lose myself out there before it’s found and if I leave here I can get there, if I get there I can do it and I’ll do it even if there’s no on else around my feet are movin’ crazy and my head is feelin’ dumb and now I’m running ‘round in circles like a sonovagun I walked down this road twice today and on the way home found I had something to say and I left you south of somewhere driving hard against the rain I looked back at you once and screamed “I love you” Just to hear the sound but if I leave here I can get there, get there I can do it and I’ll do it even if there’s no one else around

Adios Lenora 04:10
all my dreams are honey heaven help me should I lick my fingers to taste a little more I set a course for something that looked golden “Go do something beautiful” you made me promise, and I swore now all the roses bloom o’er Amerillo I see you when I smell ‘em I’d kiss every last thorn “When you’re home, knock loud” you’d said at leaving “I don’t care if it’s late at night or in the early morn.” and I wonder where this sadness goes who it picked, and what it knows if it dances by itself or if it sleeps alone does it call out for Lenora? and does it yearn for Clementine? it’s raining but I hear the mountains they are doing fine, yes they are doing fine adios, sweet love of mine I’ll see you come next fall hold on fast to Clementine don’t let her get too tall I’ll wear my lonely ‘round my neck I’ll sleep inside your heart while shaking hands in moonlight and making deals in the dark, in the dark it only rains at night here, so they tell me but when it does it washes every last one of us clean at home I never understood the need for that but now that I’m out here I know exactly what they mean some devils dance at midnight others, they prefer the light of day they’ll tell you what you wanna hear things you’re afraid to say I know ‘em by their shoes now never look ‘em in the eye you’d better have a quick hand or else learn how to lie, how to lie adios, sweet love of mine I pray this finds you soon hold on fast to Clementine tell her daddy’s missin’ her bad, too just a little longer, then I swear I’m coming home I swear it on my life, my lord and everything I know all I know canyon winds they call me home dustbowl mama take my bones canyon winds they call me home oh, dustbowl mama take my bones adios, sweet love of mine this wasn’t meant to be hold on fast to Clementine cover her eyes so she won’t see they took my horse, poisoned my blood and left me here to die but I’ll see you when you sleep at night, my love so don’t you cry, don’t you cry
